CRS Converter — EPSG / UTM

Reproject Shapefiles, GeoJSON and WKT between coordinate systems. Paste or upload, set source + target EPSG, preview on a map, and export instantly — no uploads.

Tip: Use UTM when you need meters (area/length) instead of degrees.

Common targets

  • EPSG:4326 for WGS84 lon/lat
  • EPSG:3857 for Web Mercator tiles
  • UTM (Auto) for meter-based work

If CRS detection fails

  • Override the source EPSG manually.
  • Or paste a PROJ string in Advanced mode.
  • Preview stays WGS84 so you can sanity-check quickly.

FAQ

Do you upload my data?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser for privacy and speed.
How do you detect the CRS for Shapefiles?
We read the .prj inside the .zip and try to detect an EPSG code. If detection fails, override the source EPSG manually.
Why not KML/KMZ?
KML/KMZ are essentially WGS84 lon/lat formats (EPSG:4326). For KML/KMZ conversion, use the universal converter — CRS reprojection belongs to formats like Shapefile/GeoJSON/WKT.
What is Auto UTM?
Auto UTM picks the UTM zone from the centroid of your geometry (computed in WGS84 for preview).
My GeoJSON/WKT looks wrong after conversion — why?
GeoJSON and WKT usually do not include CRS metadata. If the source EPSG is wrong, everything will be shifted. Set the correct source CRS first, then reproject.
