Polygon Tools Privacy Notice
This page explains privacy handling specific to ClearSKY Polygon Tools.
Main ClearSKY privacy policy: clearsky.vision/legal/privacy
Updated: 2026-03-12
1) How this notice works
This notice applies specifically to Polygon Tools and supplements the main ClearSKY Privacy Policy. If there is any conflict about Polygon Tools-specific processing, this notice controls for that tool-specific processing.
2) Anonymous use
Many Polygon Tools features are designed to run directly in your browser without requiring sign-in.
- Editing, validation, and conversion features are generally intended to run locally in your browser.
- We do not intentionally collect your geometry content or pasted editor content for analytics.
- Small local preferences may be stored in your browser, such as UI settings.
Like any website, technical requests, security events, and related operational logs may still be processed to deliver and protect the service.
3) Optional account and cloud-style features
Signing in is optional. If you use account-linked features such as Save, Load, or Send to Dashboard, ClearSKY may process the content needed to provide those features.
What may be processed
- The geometry you choose to save or send, typically in a supported structured format such as GeoJSON;
- Names, timestamps, and related item metadata;
- Your account identifier and related account metadata; and
- The information needed to transfer an AOI into the ClearSKY Dashboard when you choose that feature.
Retention, deletion, and session handling
- You can delete saved items from the relevant account-linked feature where available.
- Orders created in the Dashboard may keep their own copies under the rules of the relevant ClearSKY service.
- Authentication may involve session cookies or similar strictly necessary session mechanisms while signed in.
- Free storage or library features are convenience features, not guaranteed long-term backup.
4) Analytics, telemetry, and security
We may collect technical and operational data to run, secure, and improve Polygon Tools.
Examples of what we may collect
- Page views and feature usage at a high level;
- Performance signals such as load times and failures;
- Error reports and security events;
- Browser, device, and similar technical context; and
- Network and abuse-prevention signals needed to protect the service.
What we do not use this for
- Behavioral advertising;
- Cross-site tracking; or
- Building personal profiles from Polygon Tools usage.
For broader details on ClearSKY’s telemetry, cookies, legal bases, rights, recipients, and retention practices, see the main ClearSKY Privacy Policy.
5) Third-party maps and overlays
Polygon Tools may display basemaps, overlays, or similar resources from third parties. Those third parties may process technical request data under their own terms and privacy practices.
You are responsible for reviewing any third-party provider terms where relevant.
6) Your choices
- You can use many Polygon Tools features without signing in.
- If account-linked saving is available, you can manage or delete saved items there.
- You should export and keep your own copies of important work.
- You can contact ClearSKY if you have privacy questions or need help.
7) Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The updated date at the top reflects the latest version.
