ClearSKY Polygon Tools are free, browser-based tools for preparing AOIs. By using this site you agree to these terms.

1) Overview & agreement
The ClearSKY Polygon Tools are provided by ClearSKY ("we", "us"). These tools run in your browser and help you draw, clean, validate, and convert polygons (WKT, GeoJSON, Shapefile). Your use of the tools constitutes acceptance of these Terms.
- The tools are provided "as is" and "as available".
- This is a free service and we do not offer an SLA or uptime guarantee.
- We may modify features, limits, or availability over time.
2) Free service, no ads
We run this tool as a free service. We do not show ads and we are not trying to monetize visitors through aggressive tracking. Because the service is free, we cannot promise it will be available forever.
If your work matters, export and store it yourself. Downloads are your reliable backup.
3) Privacy (plain-English summary)
- Anonymous editing stays local: Editing and exporting run in your browser. We do not collect your geometry content or the text you paste into the editor for analytics.
- Anonymous insights: We collect anonymous, aggregated usage insights (for example, basic usage counts and performance errors) to improve reliability and usability. This is not ad tracking and we do not build profiles of visitors.
- No sale of data: We don’t sell your geometry or usage data.

4) ClearSKY account & free Cloud Library (optional)
A ClearSKY login is optional. It enables a private Cloud Library and integration with the ClearSKY Dashboard. The Cloud Library is a convenience feature, not long-term storage.
What we store if you sign in
- Account: Your email address, account ID, and basic account metadata needed to operate sign-in.
- Save: The geometry you choose (all or selection) as GeoJSON, the name you provide, and timestamps.
- Load: Retrieves items saved in your Cloud Library.
- Send to Dashboard: Saves the geometry like “Save” and opens the Dashboard with the AOI prefilled for ordering.
Limits, deletion, retention
- We may enforce limits on free saving (for example, item count or size) and those limits may change.
- We may remove or reduce the free saving feature in the future.
- You can delete saved items from your Cloud Library. Deleted items may persist briefly in backups or logs for security and integrity.
- Orders created in the Dashboard keep their own copies.
You should not rely on the Cloud Library as your only copy. Export and store important work locally.
5) Your content & license to us
You retain ownership of your geometry and exports. When you use account features (Save or Send), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, process, and transmit that geometry solely to provide the Cloud Library, Dashboard handoff, and related ClearSKY services you request.
This license ends when you delete the content, except to the extent we must retain limited copies for backups, security, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.
6) Intellectual property
The website, software, and branding are owned by ClearSKY or its licensors and are protected by applicable laws. Except for the limited rights needed to use the tools, no rights are granted to you.
7) Acceptable use
- No unlawful, infringing, or abusive content.
- No attempts to disrupt, reverse engineer, or overload the service.
- No high-volume automated use that degrades availability.
- Respect third-party tile and overlay provider terms and attribution.
8) Suspension or termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the tools or account features if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or if needed to protect the service, other users, or ClearSKY. Where practical, we may provide notice or a way to resolve the issue.
9) Availability & changes
The tools may change, have limits adjusted, or be discontinued. We do not promise that the service or any feature, including free saving, will remain available forever. The "Updated" date at the top reflects the latest version of these Terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
10) Security
We take reasonable measures to safeguard account features and stored items. However, no system is perfectly secure. Keep local exports as backups and do not rely on the tools for mission-critical storage.
11) Disclaimers & liability
The tools are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClearSKY will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data or profits, arising from use of the tools or account features. Where results matter (for example, legal or survey work), verify outputs in your GIS.
12) Third-party services
Basemaps and overlays (for example, OpenStreetMap, Carto, or your own tile servers) are provided by third parties and may have their own terms. You are responsible for compliance, including attribution. Infrastructure providers may process technical data to deliver and secure the service.
