Terms of Service

1) Overview & agreement

The ClearSKY Polygon Tools are provided by ClearSKY (“we”, “us”). These tools run in your browser and help you draw, clean, validate, and convert polygons (WKT/GeoJSON/Shapefile). Your use of the tools constitutes acceptance of these Terms.

• The tools are provided “as is” and “as available.”
• We may modify or discontinue features at any time.
• If you use an optional ClearSKY account, additional terms below apply to Save/Load/Send.

2) Privacy (plain-English summary)

• Anonymous use: Editing and exporting run locally in your browser. We do not log anonymous editing actions or upload your geometry/files.
• Signing in: If you sign in to use Save, Load, or Send to Dashboard, we store your session cookies and record the saved item (see Section 3). Otherwise, your work stays private to your browser.
• No sale of data: We don’t sell your geometry or usage data.

This summary is for clarity. Where needed, the Terms below control.

3) ClearSKY account & Cloud Library (optional)

A ClearSKY login is optional. It enables a private Cloud Library and tight integration with the ClearSKY Dashboard.

Account features are for convenience and order handoff. Anonymous editing remains local to your device.

4) Your content & license to us

You retain ownership of your geometry and exports. When you use account features (Save/Send), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, process, and transmit that geometry solely to provide the Cloud Library, Dashboard handoff, and related ClearSKY services you request.

Basemap/overlay tiles you add may be subject to third-party licenses; you are responsible for compliance.

5) Acceptable use

• No unlawful, infringing, or abusive content.
• No attempts to disrupt, reverse engineer, or overload the service.
• No high-volume automated scraping that degrades availability.
• Respect third-party tile/overlay provider terms and attribution.

6) Availability & changes

The tools may change or be discontinued at any time. We may update these Terms; the “Updated” date at the top reflects the latest version. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

7) Security

We take reasonable measures to safeguard account features and stored items. However, no system is perfectly secure; keep local exports as backups and do not rely on the tools for mission-critical storage.

8) Disclaimers & liability

The tools are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. ClearSKY will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data or profits, arising from use of the tools or account features. Where results matter (e.g., legal/survey work), verify outputs in your GIS.

9) Third-party services

Basemaps and overlays (e.g., OpenStreetMap/Carto or your own tile servers) are provided by third parties and may have their own terms. You are responsible for compliance, including attribution.
