Duplicate vertex
A repeated coordinate in sequence, often caused by editing or precision issues.
Category: Topology · Also known as: duplicate point, dedupe
Definition (expanded)
Consecutive duplicate vertices can create zero-length edges and trigger validation errors or unstable outputs in simplify, buffer, union, and difference. Many validators remove consecutive duplicates automatically.
