Drop a zipped ESRI Shapefile and get one WKT per feature instantly. Works fully in your browser.

FAQ

Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Parsing and WKT generation run locally in your browser. Your data stays on your device.
What should the Shapefile .zip contain?
At minimum: .shp + .dbf, and ideally .shx too. A .prj file helps detect the coordinate system. All files should share the same base name and be included in the ZIP.
Do you export one WKT per feature?
Not by default. The default output is a single GEOMETRYCOLLECTION that combines all features into one WKT. If you need one WKT per feature, switch Output format to “One WKT per feature”.
Why would I use a GeometryCollection?
It gives you one WKT string for many features, which is handy for storing or pasting large sets as a single geometry. If you need rows, IDs, or feature level attributes, use “One WKT per feature” instead.
Can I include attributes with each WKT line?
Yes. Enable “Append properties as JSON” to add a tab separated JSON blob after each WKT when using “One WKT per feature”.
Does WKT include CRS or SRID information?
No. This tool outputs plain geometry WKT without SRID. If CRS matters downstream, track it separately or use EWKB with SRID.
Do you reproject coordinates before generating WKT?
Only in one case. If the .prj indicates Web Mercator (EPSG:3857), you can enable the built in 3857 to 4326 reprojection. For other CRSs, reproject in QGIS or ArcGIS first.
What does “Polygons only” do?
It filters the input to Polygon and MultiPolygon and skips points and lines. If output becomes empty, disable the filter or confirm your Shapefile layer actually contains polygons.
