WKT to Shapefile Converter — free & private

Paste WKT (single geometry, even multiline, or one geometry per line) and download a Shapefile ZIP — all in your browser.

FAQ

Is my WKT uploaded anywhere?
No. Conversion runs locally in your browser. Your data stays on your device.
What input formats does this accept?
Either a single WKT geometry (it can span multiple lines) or multiple geometries where each line is one WKT. You can also include EWKT prefixes like SRID=4326; and they will be stripped.
Do you support GeoJSON input here?
No. This tool is WKT-only. If you have GeoJSON, use the GeoJSON → Shapefile converter.
What happens to Z / M / ZM dimensions?
Dimension tokens like POLYGON ZM (...) are converted to plain 2D WKT before export. Shapefile export here is effectively 2D.
What does “Only export Polygon / MultiPolygon” do?
It filters out points and lines and keeps only polygons. If you enable it on non-polygon data, you will end up with no output features.
What does “Coerce Polygon → MultiPolygon” do?
It forces polygon output to be MultiPolygon for a consistent polygon layer. Turn it off if you want to preserve Polygon vs MultiPolygon where possible.
Which CRS is used? Do you reproject?
No reprojection is done. If you include a .prj file, it will be WGS84 (EPSG:4326). If your coordinates are in another CRS, reproject before converting or do not include the .prj.
Why are some input lines skipped?
In “one per line” mode, lines that are empty or cannot be parsed as WKT are skipped. The tool shows how many were skipped.
